The physical properties of PTFE combine good temperature resistance (from -190°C up to +260°C, for short time up to +300°C) and excellent antiadhesive properties. Almost non-flammable, resistant to most of chemicals, smooth surface, almost no water absorption, little thermo extension. In order to increase the tension stability the PTFE is usually coated on a carrier fabric for example the PTFE coated glass fabric. Usually impermeable, except perforated PTFE materials for special purposes, e.g. as a permeable pattern for ironing pockets.
